About - Politics and Survival

Many years ago, Getting Started in Emergency Preparedness was started as an effort to educate people about surviving the tough times ahead.

Well, ...

It didn't go like I wanted, so I wrote a book, Prepper: Surviving the Tough Times Ahead.

You guessed it. It didn't go as planned.

So, ...

Prepper: Surviving the Tough Times Ahead was placed on the internet, with a whole lot more information, links, and other stuff, where it has found some success.

But, ...

I wanted something else, a place to write about my views, my politics, to try and convince you and your family that there is a better way of doing things, and that it is important for you and your family to survive these tough times.

Benedict Arnold
As you know, my name isn't Benedict Arnold, the most defamed person in these United States history, but think about it.

He was well educated, came from a prominent family, and was a successful businessman.

During the war, Benedict Arnold was a rising star, if not a star, of the Colonial Army. He and his men participated in the capture of Fort Ticonderoga, in 1775. Next, they conducted a successful raid on Fort Saint-Jean.

In 1777, he defeated a superior force at Fort Stanwix, then his heroics assisted with the defeat of the British at Battles of Saratoga.

Yes, ...

He was defeated time and time again by the British Army, but he and his men were always there, in the thick of battle, snatching some victory out of the jaws of defeat, helping the Colonial Army to survive, until the enemy was defeated on October 19th, 1781

So, why did Benedict Arnold become a traitor to our fledgling Nation?

Was it greed? Lack of character? A misguided effort to provide for his family?

Or, ...

Was it because Benedict Arnold had lost faith and trust in the country's representatives?
